In view of the assurances which Governor has

given us as to the remunerative nature of the reclamation work this expenditure need not perhaps be further queried.

The greater part of the P.V. expenditure is on works which are already in progress and the construc- tion of which have been spread over a period of years,

The Director of Public Works has, on the Governor's instruction, indicated (by a red cross in the Deptl. Estimate enclosed) the works which have not

already
